Drowning is one of the leading causes of death in children over the age of one in Vietnam. Vietnam Ministry of Health Statistics state that at least 10 children drown in Vietnam every day. Many of these lives could be saved if the children knew how to swim. It is described as the “silent epidemic” by many international aid agencies. (e.g. UNICEF, TASC).
As a solution to this problem, we have provided swim lessons to Vietnamese children. We have taught several hundred children on how to swim since the inception of our program.
Please contact us if you are in Vietnam and like to volunteer to teach a swim lesson.
